Rimmel Cosmetics {Review}

Rimmel is one of my favorite brands so I decided to give you a review on a few of the products I picked up. There were too many to choose from but I could only buy a few. I decided to purchase the Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Palette, The Only 1 Matte Lipstick and the Scandal Eyes Reloaded mascara.

Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Palette

The Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Contouring Palette is an 8-pan eyeshadow palette which is available in three selection shades. They are available in Grunge Glamour, Keep Calm and Wear Bronze and London Nudes Calling. There’s a diagram on the back of the palette that shows the different looks you can create with the eyeshadows depending on your eye shape. The palette contains a dual sided sponge applicator and a mirror on the inside. I bought the London Nudes Calling Palette, which contains nudes to brown shades to create a natural look. These eyeshadows are soft, blends easy and has a sheer pigmentation when applied.

Pros

  • Blends easily.
  • Sheer Pigmentation.
  • Small and compact for travelling.
  • Available in three selections.
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Sponge applicator provided cannot be used to blend eyeshadows.
  • The matte eyeshadows are slightly chalky.

The Only 1 Matte Lipstick

Rimmel introduced a selection of lipsticks called ‘The Only 1’ claiming that it’s the only lipstick you need. These lipsticks are available in a variety of ten shades. I bought one shade of lipstick in The Matte Factor to try out, I was very impressed. The first thing I picked up was that the lipstick has a very sweet smell that I enjoyed. The pigmentation is intense and it feels comfortable on my lips for a matte lipstick. This lipstick did not make my lips feel dry as normal matte lipsticks does, its actually very moisturizing and long-lasting.

Pros

  • Intense pigmentation.
  • Moisturizing
  • Comfortable on the lips.
  • Long-lasting

Cons

  • Need more color options.
  • It’s hard to apply with the flat-top bullet shape, I prefer the traditional bullet shape for easier application.

Scandal Eyes Reloaded mascara

As we all know mascara is something that completes any look, we all want fuller lashes and that is what Rimmel Scandal Eyes Reloaded mascara promises to give. The mascara comes in a bright orange tube with a big tapered dense brush. This mascara gave me fuller lashes but did not make my lashes appear longer. When I applied the mascara it didn’t create any clumps as other mascaras does.

Pros

  • Makes lashes voluminous
  • No clumps

Cons

  • The brush is too big for my eyes, I couldn’t coat smaller lashes.
  • The mascara feels too wet on application.
  • Does not last up to 24 hours as claimed.

Overall I am happy with these Rimmel Cosmetics, the quality is good for such affordable makeup products. I am definitely going back for more of the ‘The Only 1‘matte lipsticks.
